QESTLab™ v3.1 released
(1 September 2008) Following the successful release of QESTLab™ v3.0 in early 2008, Spectra QEST has raised the bar further with the release of QESTLab™ v3.1 which introduces a host of new features.
Five main functional areas of the product have seen improvements with new features added including the following:
1. Work Orders & Samples: Concrete samples are now available for bulk entry via work orders. Work order templates are also introduced to make it easier to log work which is performed regularly.
2. Test Reports: Custom test report header colours are now supported enabling customers to customise further the look of their test reports. Also, preliminary report status has now been incorporated in the system to allow customers to issue reports that are not final. Customisable wording is also supported (in the header of the report) to indicate that a report is not a final, endorsed document.
3. System Administration: Certain options are now configurable on a per-laboratory basis if desired, without affecting the ability to set them globally if preferred. Bulk creation of specifications is introduced, aimed at making specification population faster. Filtering is also more intelligent as users are only presented with filters referring to documents they have access to. Finally the QESTLab™ tree is now customisable allowing users to hide/show nodes, rename them, etc.
4. External Documents: Office integration has been extended to include support for Office 2007, along with a host of improvements in this area, including the support of images in external documents. For customers who wish to use QESTLab™ external documents to print tags for incoming samples, “Printable Tags” functionality is now available. Support for HTTP-linked external documents is also introduced.
5. Additional Test Methods: Around 50 new test methods are now fully supported from AS, ASTM, AASHTO, MnDOT and Australian State Authorities.
