Based in Minneapolis, employee-owned Braun Intertec is a premier engineering and environmental consulting and testing firm that has about 400 employees located in multiple Twin Cities offices as well as in Duluth, Hibbing, Rochester, Mankato and St. Cloud. The firm also has offices in Bismarck and Fargo, North Dakota; La Crosse, Wisconsin; Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Detroit. In May 2009, it was named ‘Firm of the Year’ by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota.

Braun Intertec prides itself on using the latest tools and technologies to provide a high quality service to its customers. The company was looking to replace legacy CMT LIMS (Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Information Management System) applications with enterprise-wide, highly maintainable, extensible application. Braun Intertec management was looking for “centralization, accuracy and efficiency gains, better control of the laboratory assets, and overall a significant and practical quality and image upgrade” for their company. It was important to Braun Intertec that the system would manage a wide diversity of user, business, and organizational needs, create a standardized delivery mechanism for information and reports, and integrate with Braun Intertec’s other Enterprise applications.

Following a rigorous selection process, Braun Intertec selected Spectra QEST as their preferred vendor toward the end of 2007, and by the end of the first quarter in 2008 the project of configuring, adapting and commissioning QESTLab™ was well on the way. The system went live during late 2008.
